About Me

Mas Agung Wilis Yudha Baskoro is a anthropologist, photojournalist and documentary photographer who has special interest insocial, environment, and cultural issues. He was born in Central Java and currently base in Jakarta, Indonesia. Holding a degree of Cultural Anthropology from Universitas Gadjah Mada affects his works and point of view. Some of his works were published in three collective books, they are Lombok Palu Donggala Revival (2019), Rekam Jakarta (2019) and Innovation (2020).

Yudha works as a contributor for several international media outlets such as Agence France-Presse (AFP), Associated Press (AP), The Jakarta Globe, Arab News, China Global South Project and NurPhoto Agency. 

During his 8 years career as a photojournalist, he covered some big newsworthy events around the archipelago such as East Flores expedition (2017), Lombok earthquake (2018), Indonesian Asian Games (2018), wildfires in Borneo (Central Kalimantan) (2019), COVID-19 global pandemic in Java and Bali (2020), Mount Semeru eruption (2021), Moto GP Mandalika Grand Prix (2021,2023) and Cianjur earthquake (2022).

He has experiences as a visual consultant, contractor, program impact documentation and photo editor or curator for global companies and international NGOs with inclusive groups, women, children, environmental, ocean, wildlife, and renewable energy related issues. Such as Greenpeace Indonesia, PLAN International Indonesia, INKLUSI, New Energy Nexus, Save The Children, and TNP2K.

He was also a grantee of Permata Photojournalist Grant 2019 from Permata Bank, Erasmuis Huis & PannaFoto Institute where he learned more about editing & curating, global visual references and photojournalism. His work titled "Stay in The Dreams" was exhibited at Erasmus Huis, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jakarta.

He is an EOS Creator Indonesia (2020, 2021 , 2022 and 2023) a brand ambassadorship program from CANON, the Japan based multinational company to represent their photography related products in Indonesia. He was the judges for Canon PhotoMarathon Indonesia and Canon PhotoMarathon Jakarta on 2019 and 2023. 

Yudha, as he loves to be called is NGV (National Galery of Victoria) Triennial 2023 photographers/artist. He represents Indonesia along side other artists from ten different countries around the globe in Megacities project. Megacities is a project that identifies ten of the world’s most populous cities – Tokyo, Delhi, Shanghai, Lagos, Sao Paulo, Cairo, Dhaka, Mexico City, Seoul and Jakarta – and presents the work of ten photographers who live and work in these environments. 

He is open for every assignment across the archipelago and abroad. Since 2016, he has been covering several editorial assignments in many countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Timor Leste, and Tanzania.
